Corrie star Helen Worth admits soap is ‘hard work’ amid mass exits

Coronation Street's Helen Worth has admitted that working on the ITV soap is "hard work" amid a mass exodus of stars.

So far seven stars have announced that they are leaving the cobbles this year, sparking speculation as to the reason why.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain today, the Gail Platt actress was speaking about her latest conservation project to rehome a black rhino.

But she also opened up about being on the soap for 45 years.

"It's ridiculous," she joked. "I'm still there!"

Host Kate Garraway questioned her on the atmosphere on set and Helen insisted that it was a "fabulous place to work".

"I work with an amazing family," she said.

But Helen added that working on six episodes a week meant that it was "hard work" but that the "camaraderie is fantastic".

So far seven stars have quit the ITV soap this year.
