Coronavirus: India becomes 1st country to report over 4 Lakh cases in a day

Today morning the Health Ministry data showed our country India reported 4,01,993 fresh Coronavirus cases, the highest single day tally since the start of the  Covid 19 pandemic, and 3523 deaths. With this, India became the 1st country in the world to register over 4 lakh  Coronavirus cases in a single day. Besides, 2,99,988 discharges in the last one day, as per the Union Health Ministry. Maharashtra State continues to lead in the number of  Covid-19 infections.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, Mayor Kishori Pednekar has asserted that  Mumbai will give priority to those between 45 to 60 years of age due to a shortage of  the Covid vaccines.

Meanwhile, our country  India is all set to start its phase 3 vaccination drive against Covid-19 for people above 18 years from today.

According to the latest  reports, only six states,  Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Odisha are likely to start the vaccination drive for all above eighteen. Even then the inoculation drive in these six  states will be token one, limited to the  few districts as these states have also limited  the vaccine stocks available with them.

Telangana State’ coronavirus tally surpassed 4.35 lakh as 7,754 fresh  Covid-19 cases were recorded while the toll stood at 2,312 with  fifty one more casualties.
