Former X Factor contestant Tracyleanne Jefford has blamed her tanning "addiction" for giving her skin cancer.
The reality show star, 35, was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma (BCC), a common type of skin cancer, on her nose in April.
She's now facing an operation to remove a 10 pence-sized chunk from her nose, as well as reconstructive surgery.
Tracyleanne, who appeared on X factor in 2017, has now revealed she got hooked on sunbeds to keep herself looking bronzed and she's convinced they caused her current health crisis.
She told The Sun : "I struggled with my appearance for years.
“Having a bit of colour made me feel good about myself. It gave me more confidence.
“So I was going on the sun beds every single day for about 15 minutes.
“When I look back it, I say to myself, ‘How foolish were you?’
“When I saw stories in the paper about someone getting skin cancer from sun beds I’d think, ‘Aw dear girl’. I thought it’d never happen to me.”
She originally noticed the lump on her nose around a year ago but ignored it until her sister urged her to go to a doctor.
The mum-of-three said the diagnosis was so devastating it gave her a nervous breakdown – because she has lost many family members to cancer.
She's now trying to cope with the idea that her face will never be the same again as doctors have warned her she'll be scarred for life.
Tracyleanne is trying to warn others about the dangers of sunbeds, insisting there need to be an intervention by the government.
She added: "If I had seen pictures of skin cancer at the sunbed shops, like lung cancer on cigarette packets, I would’ve thought twice."
Tracyleanne originally auditioned for X Factor in 2006 and came back in 2017 with a new look.
She had lost five and a half stone and told the judges she was going through a divorce from her husband at the time.
She made it through to the live shows with Nicole Scherzinger as part of her over-28s category.
