Wagatha judge says it’s ‘likely’ Vardy’s agent ‘deliberately dropped her phone in the sea’

Mrs Justice Karen Steyn has revealed that in her judgement, Rebekah Vardy's agent Caroline Watt is "likely" to have dropped her phone in the sea on purpose.

The court had previously heard how Vardy’s agent Ms Watt was unable to supply her messages between herself, Mr Boyle and another reporter Andy Halls.

This was because her phone had “fallen into the North Sea during a boat trip”.

During the court ruling today on Friday 29 July, Justice Steyn said: "The incident in which Ms Watt’s phone is said to have been lost at sea occurred in August 2021. On 4 August 2021, the CCMC had taken place at which an order requiring her device to be inspected had been made.

"The timing is striking. In my judgment, even taking this evidence on its own, the likelihood that the loss Ms Watt describes was accidental is slim."
