Just when you thought that you were going to have a calm, relaxing Memorial Day, the great YouTube beauty vlogger drama of 2019 continues.
A brief recap of the situation: Vloggers James Charles and Tati Westbrook used to be friends, but then at Coachella this year James promoted some gummy hair vitamins, which really upset Tati cause she makes her *own* hair supplements. After that, Tati released a video about how upset she was with James and also accused him of being sexually inappropriate with straight men. James apologized, fellow YouTuber Jeffree Star chimed in and called James a “danger to society,” and then James released another video explaining himself/apologizing again, and it looked like everyone was ready to move on. That is, until Friday, when James decided to cancel his Sisters Tour.
And if you, like me, were wondering what a beauty vlogger would do on tour, well, according to his site it was meant to be “an evening full of beauty, music and personal conversation with James” with “beauty tutorials, live music, games, an interactive Q&A session, surprise giveaways, exclusive merchandise and much more.”
James uploaded a video to his Insta stories on Friday announcing the cancellation, saying, “A lot has gone on in the past few weeks, which has led many people, including myself, wondering what was going to happen to the tour. And after the last week of meetings and phone calls, and trying to figure it all out…we have officially come to the very, very tough decision that I am canceling the Sisters Tour…Now I know this sucks, and people are going to be upset and sad about it and trust me, I am not really happy about this either.”
He goes on to add that it was a “personal decision” and that the drama of the last few weeks put him in “a really bad place…I’m not better, and I’m not back either, but I am trying to move on with my life. I’m still not doing well…I feel like I can’t deliver the best version of James right now, and that sucks.”
So, while it looks like Tati and Jeffree are fully over the drama, do we think that it’s really over, or…?
