Sushmita Sen winning the prestigious Miss Universe pageant in 1994 made for a historic moment for the country. 25 years after she brought the top honour home, the actress celebrated the memorable moment with her family. Sushmita was crowned yet again and cut a cake which flaunted pictures of her winning moment and Bollywood journey.
Sushmita was surrounded by her mother, daughters and beau Rohman Shawl. Penning a heartfelt note the actress posted on Instagran, “What a journey!!! Thank you my Motherland India, for giving me my proudest identity #INDIAN ???? The love,respect & adulation I have been showered with for 25 years, is undoubtedly my life’s greatest earning!!?❤️? As we celebrate 25years of making History, of India winning Miss Universe for the very first time…I want to remember & Thank the people of my second home #philippines ?❤️? Sushmita also shared a video from the cake-cutting ceremony, which seems to be shot by Rohman.
After being crowned Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen made her way into Bollywood, debuting with Dastak in 1996, alongside Mukul Dev and Manoj Bajpayee. She has to her credit Bollywood films like Biwi No 1, Aankhen and Main Hoon Na, with 2010 release No Problem being has last Hindi film appearance. The actress was also seen in Bengali film Nirbaak, which hit the screens in 2015.
