Meghan Markle fell in love with London long before marrying Prince Harry.
In an unearthed interview from 2013, when American-born Meghan still appeared on the legal drama “Suits,” she told British TV personality Lizzie Cundy that she had taken a liking to city.
“It is very cold, but the people are so warm, as cheesy as that sounds,” Meghan said of London. “I was joking today that I’ve never been called ‘love’ or ‘darling’ more in my life, so it makes me want to stick around for a while.”
Meghan, 37, was in London for Eva Longoria’s Global Gift Gala at the time.
She moved to the UK in 2017, the same year she and Harry, 34, announced their engagement. The couple wed last May at St George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Earlier this month, Meghan and Harry, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday, welcomed their first child, son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
