Liberty Poole has revealed she is "focussing on herself" after her heartbreaking split from Jake Cornish last month.

Love Island beauty Liberty, 21, made the admirable decision to part ways with Jake, 24, just days before the final of the show – revealing she needed to be "true to herself".

After leaving the villa, Liberty has received wide praise for choosing to split from Jake.

And, in an exclusive chat with OK!, Liberty revealed she has no plans to change her single status.

Speaking on the red carpet of the TRIC Awards, which is in partnership with OK!, Liberty revealed: "I'm just focussing on me at the moment. I'm just focusing on myself, I think that's the right thing to do – getting over whatever happened and then who knows in the future!"

And when quizzed how things are between herself and Jake since leaving the show, Liberty revealed: "No bad blood, we're still civil but the ship has sailed now."

It comes after Liberty's fellow former Islander Teddy Soares said the blonde beauty needs someone who will make her "feel deserved".

Speaking on the red carpet of the National Television Awards last week, Teddy backed Liberty to find love again while while Faye Winter added that she is "proud" of her former co-star, who she likened to a little sister.

When asked by OK! if Liberty was enjoying single life, Faye said: "I think she's loving it, she is a strong, independent woman, she doesn't need no man!" while Teddy added: "She's strutting her stuff!"

He continued: "She obviously deserves someone who is going to make her feel like she wants to feel deserved when she gets that, she will be even happier!"

To which Faye added of her friend and how she handled herself in the ITV2 villa: "I'm proud of her!"

Liberty previously said that she and Jake have reached the "end of the journey" after reuniting with him to discuss their romance in the Love Island villa.

As she met Jake to discuss how things went between them in a pre-recorded meet ahead of the Love Island live reunion, Liberty confronted Jake for not making any effort to make it "work properly".

Jake said: "How are things going, obviously, you're a busy girl. FaceTimed you a couple of times…" to which Liberty corrected him with: "Once. It was once."

Later in the studio, Liberty explained to Love Island host Laura Whitmore that things were done between them.

She said: "I just think we did the right thing in us going our separate ways and I feel like we're both in happier places now because of that.

"He seems a lot happier and I know that I'm a lot happier, so we've done the right thing."
