Christian Bale and Matt Damon are here to bring to life true events from 1966. The greatest racing rivalry that made headlines back then, that between Ford and Ferrari companies, has been brought to the silver screens with Ford v Ferrari. Matt plays Carroll Shelby, an engineer hired by Ford to create a racing car that can take down Ferrari’s best model in order to become the best manufacturer in the world. The company gives him 90 days to design the car as well as find a driver who is skillful enough to take part in the Le Mans 24 hour race for Ford. This is when Shelby comes across Ken Miles, a British racer, played by Christian Bale. A James Mangold directorial, this one will see the American car manufacturer battle it out with the Italian company on the French racing track.
The trailer shows all these happenings in the form of a montage and it’s a fan’s dream come true to see Matt and Christian share screen space in a high-voltage storyline. The makers shared the trailer of the movie and we cannot wait to watch this one. Have a look at it here:
Coming from the director of Walk The Line, The Wolverine and Logan, Ford v Ferrari will have some serious high-speed racing to catch up with as well as an intense performance by Christian. Matt seems to play the brainy car engineer here with his suited as well as smart casual looks. Apart from these two, the movie also features Catriona Balfe as Ken Miles’ wife, Noah Jupe as his son, Tracy Letts in the role of Henry Ford II, Jon Bernthal as Lee Iacocca and Remo Girone playing Enzo Ferrari.
It is being said that Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were being considered initially for these roles which finally went to Christian and Matt. Distributed by Walt Disney Motion Pictures, under the 20th Century Fox banner, Ford v Ferrari will release worldwide on November 15.
Ford v Ferrari seems like a movie to watch out for as it has a lot to offer with the high-speed racing, a true story at its base and the star performers Matt Damon and Christian Bale.
