The ‘Jimmy Cooks’ hitmaker is pointing fingers at the Canadian filmmaker days after announcing the cancellation of his highly anticipated ‘Young Money Reunion’ show because he contracted the virus again.
AceShowbiz –Drake is seemingly blaming DirectorX for giving him COVID-19. The hip-hop superstar has pointed fingers at the Canadian filmmaker, days after he announced that he contracted the virus for the second time.
Drizzy lightheartedly called out DirectorX when commenting on DJ Khaled‘s post. On Thursday, August 3, the Roc Nation artist posted a black-and-white picture of him hanging out with the ailing rapper and the music video director to promote his new track “Staying Alive”.
“Thursday midnight ITS NEAR [email protected] feat @champagnepapi @lilbaby #STAYINGALIVE #GODDID,” DJ Khaled captioned it. Surprisingly, Drake made use of the post to expose DirectorX as the culprit of his latest health issue as he commented on it, “This is the exact moment X gave me Covid.”
Drake announced his second COVID diagnosis on Monday, prompting him to cancel his highly-anticipated “Young Money Reunion” show. The gig was initially set to take place on Monday night at his OVO Fest in Toronto.
In a lengthy statement posted on his Instagram Story just hours before the scheduled show, he told fans he was “truly devastated” over the cancellation. Drake wrote, “I am truly devastated to say that I tested positive for Covid and the ‘Young Money Reunion’ show scheduled for tonight is being rescheduled to the SOONEST date possible.”
“I will keep the city posted and share the new date whenever we have it locked,” the 35-year-old added. “Until then I hope everyone everyone stays safe and healthy and I love you all I am so sorry for letting you down on our weekend together and the moment I test negative I will give you everything I got on stage (except the Covid.)”
Drake first contracted COVID in the summer of 2021. Days before his second positive COVID diagnosis announcement, Drake performed with Nelly Furtado at his OVO Fest in his hometown of Toronto.
