Call The Midwife star Helen George announces her second child’s unique name

Call The Midwife’s Helen George has revealed the name of her new baby daughter.

The star, 37, welcomed her second child with partner Jack Ashton last month, but the couple had kept the baby’s name quiet until now.

Posting to Instagram, Helen shared a sweet snap and announced they have named their baby girl, Lark.

Keeping in with the bird theme, the couple already have another daughter called Wren, born in 2017.

Captioning the adorable photo, Helen wrote: “Our second little bird. This is Lark. We should probably stop there so we don’t end up with a Goose.”

Helen had originally said that they were expecting their new arrival in December, so baby Lark seems to have made an arrival slightly earlier than expected.

Fans gave their congratulations to the new mum, with many complimenting the baby’s unique name.

“Oh my gosh beautiful name!” one wrote.

Another added: “A beautiful name to match little Wren”.

The actress, who is best known for the role of Trixie Franklin in the BBC drama, shared a photo of dad Jack with the newborn on his chest last month and revealed that the baby had arrived in the same week as his birthday.

The mum-of-two shared the sweet snap and joked that Jack would 'forevermore' have to share his 'birthday week' with the little one.

She penned: "Happiest of birthdays my love. What a week. And forevermore you will share your birthday week with your second born, sorry I couldn’t cross my legs any longer Xxx."

She appeared to have given birth in St Thomas' Hospital in London as the Palace of Westminster and Big Ben could be seen from the window.

Helen has appeared in Call the Midwife since it first aired in 2012. Jack also starred in the show as Reverend Tom Hereward.

The pair began dating in 2016 after filming in South Africa for that year's Call The Midwife Christmas special. Their first daughter Wren was born shortly after in 2017.

Helen previously opened up about finding love with James following her divorce from Oliver Boot in 2015.

In an interview with Stella magazine she described it as a "slow process," and explained: "Jack always really makes me laugh. He's so unbelievably kind and down to earth, and he's such a great dad."

Call the Midwife is due to be back on our screens this December for its annual Christmas special.
